嗟嗟臣工（群臣【上】百官听明【音同：名】白）、敬爾在公。
王釐爾成、來咨來茹。
嗟嗟保介、維莫之春、亦又何求、如何新畬（耕种二年的地（音同：帝）叫新，耕种三年的（之）地（音同：帝）叫畲）。
於皇（君主，亦指神话传说中的神）來牟、將受厥（字义：其，指代将熟之麦）明（音同：名）。
明（音同：名）昭上帝、迄用康（之）年。
命（谐音：名）我眾人、庤乃（备上）錢鎛、奄觀銍艾。

《臣工 - Chen Gong》
Ah(Jiē)! Ah! ministers and officers,
Reverently(Extraordinarily) attend to your public duties.
The king has (solemnly) given you perfect rules; -
Consult about them and(their belongings and exceptionally) consider them.
Ah(Jiē)! Ah! ye assistants(men),
It is now the end of (exact) spring;
(Also by end of spring what are you looking for?)And what have ye to seek for?
how to (be in charge of)manage the new fields and (experimental) those of the third year.
(Just how beautiful and marvellous)How beautiful are the wheat and the barley (extraordinarily),
Whose bright(blazing) produce we shall receive(finally obtain)!
The bright(blazing) and glorious(extremely brilliant) God.
Will(Just shall) in them give us a good year.
Order (exclusively) all our men,
To be provided (bring forth happily) with their spuds and hoes:
Anon we shall see the sickles at work.
