易經•彖傳•比


比，吉也，比，輔也，下順從也。原筮元永貞，无咎，以剛中也。不寧方來，上下應也。後夫凶，其道窮也。



Tuan Zhuan: Bi
        
'Bi indicates that there is good fortune:' - (the name) Bi denotes help; (and we see in the figure) inferiors docilely following (their superior). 'Let (the principal party intended in it) reexamine himself, (as if) by divination, whether his virtue be great, unintermitting, and firm; - if it be so, there will be no error: - all this follows from the position of the strong line in the centre (of the upper trigram). 'Those who have not rest will come to him:' - high and low will respond to its subject. 'With those who are (too) late in coming it will be ill:' - (for them) the way (of good fortune here indicated) has been exhausted.

Tuan Zhuan: Bi
        
'Bi indicates that there is good fortune:' - (the name) Bi denotes help; (and we see in the figure) inferiors docilely following (their superior)['Bi actually indicates that there is being exceptional good fortune just as same as winning a jackpot:' - the name of Bi expresses to give assistance to; (and we are able to see in the figure clearly) inferiors obediently following (their superior)].' Let (the principal party intended in it) reexamine himself, (as if) by divination, whether his virtue be great, unintermitting, and firm; - if it be so, there will be no error: - all this follows from the position of the strong line in the centre (of the upper trigram)[Let (the exact principal party proposed in it) join and reexamine himself, as if by exercise divination, whether his virtue be brilliantly great, very firm, and basically unintermitting; - if exactly it be as above, there will be just not any mistakes: - all this extraordinarily follows from the bearing of the hefty line based in the centre (of the upper trigram)]. 'Those who have not rest will come to him:' - high and low will respond to its subject['Those who have not relaxation will approach to him:' - its subject will abnormally be responded no matter extra high and low]. 'With those who are (too) late in coming it will be ill:' - (for them) the way (of good fortune here indicated) has been exhausted['With those who are basically long-delayed within the bounds coming it will be exceedingly nauseous:' - just as (for them) the easy way (of exceptional good fortune here being indicated) has been totally drained].
