LEAVING BOTH FORM AND APPEARANCES, TWENTY

“Subhuti, what do you think? Can the Buddha be perceived by His completely perfect physical body (rupa-kaya)?”[Can the Buddha be identified by His thoroughly exemplary physical body (just material mechanism)?”]

“'No, World Honoured One[“'No, World Extraordinary One],

“the Tathagata should not be so perceived[“the Tathagata should not be identified along these lines].

 “Why?

[“In that the Buddha exhibits the unmitigatedly exquisite rupa-kaya is not quite, but is just called the completely supreme rupakaya.”]“Because the Buddha says the completely perfect rupa-kaya is not, but is called the completely perfect rupakaya.”

“Subhuti, what do you think?[“Subhuti, what do you exactly think?]

[“May possibly the Tathagata be identified through His completely perfect configurations?”]“Can the Tathagata be perceived by His completely perfect forms?”

“'No, World Honoured One[“'Not a bit, World Honoured One],

[“the Tathagata should not be exceptionally recognised,]“the Tathagata should not be so perceived,

“because the Tathagata says the completely perfect forms are not, but are called completely perfect forms.”[“because the Tathagata just exclaims the absolutely excellent configurations are not by any means, notwithstanding are called completely perfect configurations.”]
